Uniform and costs
Termly subscription
At 1st Hampton and 1st Greenhill Rainbows there is no joining fee. There are termly subs of £25 per Rainbow, due 6 times a year at the start of each term. Terms are usually 6 weeks in length, generally aligning with school terms (or half-terms). We usually meet on bank holidays that fall within term time.
Optional extras
Optional trips, overnight residentials and events are provided at extra cost. We are entirely volunteer run and try to minimise costs to parents as much as feasibly possible.
Uniform
Official Girlguiding uniform and accessories, whether Rainbows, Brownies, Guides or Rangers, can be ordered at Rainbows, helping to raise funds for us. We also have a special Oystercatcher necker. There is no requirement to have all of the uniform items. The most important item of clothing is the polo top and the necker.

Our oystercatcher emblem represents the history of the original Hampton-on-Sea village as an oyster fishery and as grown with us to symbolise our aspirations, determination and potential.

Please talk to your unit leader about the Rainbows badge book. It houses all the information your Rainbow needs to earn their interest badges. It can also help you keep track of progress towards skills builders, theme awards and the special Rainbows Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
